I've kept hoping a report of your visit would appear as, although I'm a birder rather than a botanist, I've long had an interest in all species occurring here. One minor point: although the site was labelled as disused in 1929, it was active later on, well into the 1990s, when it was known locally simply as Sid Haigh's quarry. When quarrying finally stopped, it was used illegally for stripping old cars, several of which remained scattered over what was a level bare rock floor (apart from a couple of huge stone monoliths) until 2002/2003, when hundreds of lorryloads of crushed stone were deposited there, creating the undulating landscape now seen (and presumably burying the cars).
