Ilex aquifolium 'Ferox'

I looked at the Polypodium on return. The one from the woodland that had the classic, more or less parallel sided shape as per the book P. vulgare was indeed that. I took a sample from one outside the house we passed on the private road which was growing on a low wall along with many plants of Hart's-tongue which was more ovate in shape and I thought it might be P. interjectum. The sporangia were immature but nonetheless have 12-14 indurated annulus cells and 1 basal cell meaning it is also P. vulgare. As I said the field characters given in the books are not always good in Polypodium.
